Babel tower 6
Categories: Global, Babel
Fellow loyal readers, you know how much I like this myth, and it’s being a while I haven’t post anything related to it.
Maybe this time, click on this (copyleft) picture, and enjoy many nice illustrations - I will be normally back on Monday (I need a break). For other related pics.

Dear Tanguy - I am fascinated by your collection of Babel Towers’ pictures. I didnt how much this myth mean to you. Same here. This myth, and its ominous ending, could very well become the metaphor for a globalized manking that cant manage to speak the same language. Will the tower tumble down again?
Hi Julia,
thanks for your kind words… I can understand your fascination about this myth. I tried to not show too many pics of it, just because it carries out a quite negative effect… “Armaggedon is the ending”, and I broadly prefer to keep it positive. So many languages, but still though, we manage to make it happen… I should clarify more my visions about this myth (topic of a next post)
will be looking hard for Babel towers that haven’t tumbled yet
Very nice blog! I am truly happy that Babel occurred. Language is indeed culture, and using more than one language opens up minds, hearts and creates curiosity. In fact, if you believe in multilinguism as much as I do, check out the group I founded with a few friends, which now is very big, http://www.tlaxcala.es
We translate on a voluntary basis, texts we like into our languages and disseminate them everywhere. It’s a hobby, a passion and a way to bring other thoughts to awareness by maintaining a linguistic freedom, one may read it in their own language!
thank you thecutter
and I totally agree with you, diversity is maybe the reason why life isn’t boring. I am for multilinguism and cultural diversity.
My goal though is to isolate it from any political sides - because political mechanisms are just similar everywhere (with from time to time cultural specificities). There are so many things we actually share, but just differently represent.
